The Institut de mecanique celeste et de calcul des ephemerides provides and publishes ephemerides
of solar system bodies. It serves as the official and public source of ephemerides devoted to regulate calendars2.
It performs theoretical research activities in the fields of celestial mechanics, planetology and mathematics. It initiates and coordinates observing campaigns

1610-2010: galilleans satellites saga
2010 is the year of the 400th anniversary of the four large Jupiter's satellites discovered by Galileo. IMCCE has always been highly involved in the observation and theoretical study of the Galilean satellites motion. This event gives us the opportunity to return on the exploration of this first planetary system discovered.
Our newsletter will monthly describe this particular saga that involved so many astronomers and observation facilities till today.
